Dolmar- too many strokes to cut with my chainsaw

Hi folks,

My Dolmar PS-420 has been serviced and sharpened recently but it doesn’t seem to be cutting with the same effectiveness as it used to, it requires many more strokes and a lot more pressure to cut wood of the same density compared to earlier. What could be behind this?

Randy

Hey Randy,

This sounds like your chain blades have become too thin, since you mention that you recently changed the blade. The most likely scenario is that your blade has lost too much metal and it is time for you to replace the chain with a new one.
